thoughts on the future of driving
Neulich habe ich gehört, etwa 40% aller Innovationen seien IKT-induziert , stünden also zumindest in mittelbarem Zusammenhang mit der Informations- und Kommunikations-Technologie. Die IKT spielt in immer mehr Bereichen unseres Lebens eine zentrale Rolle und meist wird das auch spürbar.
Dies gilt mit Sicherheit auch für die Automobilindustrie , which is currently in transition in many ways. In this post I would like to make a modest aspect of such innovations in the automotive industry. A precursor of what I pointed like (sometimes to the chagrin of my fellow human beings in wild Bars discussions) formulated as follows:
Imagine, your view through the windshield base, through the rear view mirror and any other interesting perspectives (eg, the blind spot) are recorded by cameras, possibly in three dimensions. Technically, this is almost trivial. Microphones also register the street noise. Let us further imagine that these "perceptions" can be reliably transmitted in real time at any point. If we then also establish the return channel, the conceptual leap for the remote control of vehicles not far away.
Now one may ask what sense could have.
Here are some suggestions:
I hope the examples suffice to demonstrate that the thought experiment is quite interesting.
Until then we definitely can not drive, can and must - neither the vehicle nor stationary. way in my view, a desirable prospect, not a nightmare.

- Consider how many times we stand in the transport or the logistics necessarily have to accept due to driving time of truck drivers. In that time, "rests" the capital (trucks) and the product is not an inch from the spot.
- same applies to bus . Some have an extra driver to be taken on board to allow any, longer distances (almost) back down in one piece.
- Think about how much better the capacity of drivers or the resource utilization could be scheduled, if this could be physically separate from the vehicle: the driver stationary contracts is similar to that of Service agents in a call center assigned.
- Take time to take a taxi home, because you are not fit to drive? (This is not a criticism that could be a compliment, you understand the question wrong.) Frequently one would need a taxi but actually (mobile plus car driver) but only the driver . If this also can remote control your driver as a stationary car, this would improve the cost structure dramatically (better ride home) and also prevent many empty trips.
